My Influence: My parents
There have been many people who have influenced my life. With me starting my teenager years, the people who have influenced me the most would probably be my friends or parents so far in my life. I think that my parents have a bigger part though. My parents always support me and my brother, Michael, whenever they can. I also think that they have brought us up the best they could and they still are. My dad works as a geologist professor, so he had to get whatever college degrees he needed for that when I was younger. Because of that, we have moved every five years so far. First, Missouri, then Iowa, and now here in West Virginia. When we moved the first time from Missouri to Iowa, I don’t really remember if I cared, as I was only five years old and I don’t really remember. When we moved the second time from Iowa to here, it was very different. I thought that it was the worst decision my parents could have made. The only thing that kept me very happy was that my dad promised that if I moved, he would get me a dog. He kept this promise, as he always does when he makes a promise, and now I own the best and cutest dog ever. Now living in West Virginia, I know that I’ve found the best friends that I could ever find at my age here.
This year my dad is trying to get tenure this year, so hopefully we won’t be moving soon. My mom is a house mom, so she does all the hard work that they do, though I’m not sure exactly of all that she does. So with her at home all the time, she is always there when I come home from school and before I leave in the morning. My mom also takes me to and from all of my school activities, friends houses, or extra things I like to do including dance, piano, and soccer. Speaking of which, another thing my parents do for me is willingly pay for the fun activities I do. All in all, my parents have always been there for me and they always support me in what I do. They mean a lot to me.
I would love to read more about what it was like to move from Iowa to West Virginia. I never really moved like that until I was old enough to go to college. I think I piece of writing just focusing on that aspect of your life and your family would be very interesting to read.
